When I use HP smart to print photos all photos printed are 100% black the same thing occurs if I print from my PC. I have ran the PC trouble shooter with the answer no fault found. Likewise when running the HP print doctor the only error is a miss match with a printer port which is corrected. This problem has occurred several times in the past but, I have resolved the problem. I am an Instant Ink customer, so HP cartridges are in use.

Thank you for replying to my printing issue. To date I have 23 6x4 HP glossy paper photos, all in black and 1 with a white stripe each side of a photo. Over the past 3\4 days I have uninstalled my printer and HP Smart from my Dell desktop PC and iPhone at least 4 times then reinstalled both. Reset both and signed into my account. I have run troubleshooter on the a number of occasions and found no faults, likewise I have ran the HP Print/scanner doctor, again no faults?
Of course I looked for driver updates and downloaded a few only to find they were already installed. I entered a run prompt (printui.exe/s) and deleted my previous HP printer that was still on my PC.
So I've tried about everything that was suggested in the HP community forum. One suggestion was to connect my printer using a USB printer cable, which I have done and it now operating on a different printer port. Was the problem to do with a printer port that was in use relying on wireless only connection?
Today I turned on my PC and selecting photos and using HP Smart and copy photos from my iPhone the printer is PRINTING PHOTOS IN COLOR!
At this point of time my printer is working correctly! hooray! but it's not the first time this has happened to me and I hold the opinion that the issue occurs when HP update software either on my PC or iPhone app?
SO why is it now operating properly? not that I'm complaining but I've wasted a lot of Instant Ink and glossy photo paper.

Thanks for the posted possible solutions to my problem 100% black photos, I have looked at them all but none has resolved this issue.
I have uninstalled my printer 3 times on my PC and same number of times with HP Smart on my iPhone but this has not worked for me!
I have now connected a printer USB lead to my PC and reset up the printer using a different PC port. Same issue remains.
On two or three past occasion's I had this problem which I suspected was linked to HP software/driver updates which I overcame but all of the above is still giving me the same problem. I'm convinced there is a simple solution that I'm missing!
