I just signed up for Instant Ink. Will I need to keep my printer plugged in to ensure in can communicate ink levels, so that I am sent new ink whenever necessary?

HP monitors ink level in your instant ink printer, you don't need to keep the printer turned ON all the time. When the printer is turned ON the ink level data is sent to HP automatically trough the internet.
