So many do not operate the same fault. Has to be a manufacture or design issue.

@DennyHo,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

Are you using genuine HP Ink cartridges or refilled ink cartridges.

Did the issue happened soon after replacing the ink cartridges.

Have you tried to print the Print quality diagnostics report from the printer? Or What happens when you try to make a copy from the printer?

Let's try these steps here:

Let's try to print the print quality diagnostic report from the printer.

  1. Load plain white paper in the input tray.

  2. From the printer control panel, open the Setup  menu.

  3. Open the Reports or Tools menu.

  4. Touch Print Quality Report.

Evaluate the report for any defects.

  • If there are defects found, try the steps mentioned in this document

Alternatively, you can try to check if the old ink cartridges work.

You may try to follow the steps suggested in this document to clean the ink cartridge contact - HP Printers - 'Incompatible Ink Cartridge' or 'Ink Cartridges Missing' Error Displays

You may also try to update the printer firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware (Skip this step if you have already performed it)

Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Actually the issue started just before I replaced the black ink cartridge. It had run out of ink. But the new one did the same thing. I only use genuine HP cartridges. I even bought another new expensive HP cartridge and that did not resolve my concern.

I did follow all of these suggestions. They did not help. At this time I will replace the printer. I believe that HP has significant problems out here!

Thanks for trying.
