Hi,

The smallprint says that you cannot downgrade a plan to the free tier - so, to be clear, does that also mean that if I redeem my 4 month free trial on one of the paid tiers and decide it's not for me, am I then prevented from using the free tier after the trial?

Also, I only bought my printer yesterday (Officejet 3833) and your website is telling me it ran out of warranty last August!! What's that all about?

Bump. Would appreciate a response before I return the printer.

Wow it's like a ghost town in here. Really helpful.

I think I'll just return the printer and buy a different brand instead.

Hi @Rob_B_83

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

Are you trying to enroll to 15-page free plan?

Where was the printer purchased?

Was it purchased as a brand new printer or a refurbished?

I'd like to trial the 50 or 100 page plans as I'm entitled to 4 Months free, but I want to know if I'll be able to switch to the Free plan if I find I'm not printing enough to warrant a paid plan. I know you can't revert to Free if you actually pay for a higher plan, but surely a trial exists for me to determine my needs and offer me the ability to select the free plan afterwards if that's all I'll need.

I bought the printer brand new in-store at Tesco at the weekend.

Yes, you will be able switch plans as per your needs.

Note

  • If you are upgrading your plan, select when you want the upgrade to take effect. Plan upgrades take effect immediately or at the start of the next billing cycle, depending on your selection. When you upgrade your account, your monthly rollover maximum also increases.

  • If you are downgrading your plan, your plan automatically changes on the first day of the next billing cycle. When you downgrade your account, your monthly rollover maximum decreases and any rollover pages in excess of your new maximum are forfeited.

NOTE:

Certain plans, like the low-usage 15-page plan or the heavy usage 500-page plan, are only offered to qualifying Instant Ink customers. If you qualify for a plan, you see it in your My Plan choices.
