Common problems for INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Instant Ink. Check out this link: HP INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER. .

I was on the Instant Ink Subscription program for 2 years and just received 1 Black Ink Cartridge. I then cancelled my Instant Ink Subscription bc I can simply order a new cartridge from HP for less than the $100+ I paid over the last 2 years. I put the ink cartridge in my printer and received a E0 error message. Over 2 days of watching video clips to figure this out, I was able to establish that the new cartridge is the problem. I called customer service only to be told that since I canceled my Instant Ink Subscription that I was not entitled to a new cartridge (it was received in late April 2026) or a refund. My advice is do not participate in the Instant Ink program unless you are or have a big business where you're using a lot of printer ink. Not worth the loss of over $100 for a small business person.

When you sign up for the Instant Ink program you are NOT purchasing ink, you are purchasing a subscription to a set number of pages per month.  The ink is supplied as needed, but remains the property of HP and will not operate in a printer without an active HP Instant Ink account.  See sections 5.d and 9.c of the terms of service here.
