HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer

Instant Ink is a SCAM. My printer hasn't worked since at least Jan 7th. I paused billing. Still getting billed. I cancelled billing. Still getting billed. What does it take to get HP to pause or cancel Instant Ink billing for a dead printer? I should be getting a refund!

Welcome to the HP English Community --

True -- A printer subscribed to Instant Ink must remain connected to the Internet using Web Services.

True, too -

If you cancel the contract using the procedure provided for the task,

If you remove all the Instant Ink cartridges from the printer, then purchase and install a new set of HP ink cartridges,

then

The printer should work and you should not be still subscribed.

So my printer has been broken and unusable since at least January 7th. I had paused billing but somehow it started billing again. Just recently I tried to cancel billing but it looks like HP is going to bill me AGAIN.

This is why I think Instant Ink is a SCAM. It's impossible to opt out, even with a broken and unusable printer.

I used to think HP products and services were quality. Not sure anymore.

Prove me wrong. Reimburse me back to January and we're good.

Thanks,

Ed

Please note the printer ink cartridge and mechanism is all the way over on the left and will not return (broken).

issue was resolved by calling and talking to instant ink billing folks, who cancelled my subscription and refunded (1) month of payment, then transferred me to hp hardware support. hp hardware support walked me through fixing the stuck printer carriage but in the end it was deemed a non-fixable hardware error. they offered me the hp all-in plan with a free officejet pro 9015e and 2 year subscription for $14.99/mo which I accepted

Excellent.

Good outcome.

Thanks for posting back.

There are situations where the package deal makes more sense than going it alone and hoping for the best.

Smiling.

I took have been locked out of my own brand new HP printer for 7 to 8 months!! Then I realized the chip in the ink that came with prntr is programmed with the "ink" program , went and bought some new carts installed , un "Notifications" HP Ink and been happily printing for months.  Feel unhappy Abt the countless "instruction set up" papers that continuelly printed out and hours I spent trying to make it work ...when all along HP knows the cartridge is rigged to work with the program only   ...thank you HP
