Hi @Bmtahimik,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Experiencing a server error when updating shipping information or signing up for Instant Ink can be frustrating, especially after trying basic troubleshooting steps. Here are some additional steps you can take to address this issue.

  • Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your computer and printer are connected to a stable internet connection. Sometimes, server errors occur due to poor internet connectivity.
  • Try Different Devices/Browsers: Attempt the update or sign-up process using a different device (computer, tablet, smartphone) or web browser. Sometimes, the issue could be browser-specific or related to the device you're using.
  • Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Clearing your browser's cache and cookies can sometimes resolve website-related issues. Go to your browser's settings and clear the cache and cookies, then try accessing the Instant Ink website again.
  • Disable Firewall/Antivirus: Your firewall or antivirus software might be blocking the connection to the Instant Ink servers. Temporarily disable them and try updating your shipping information or signing up again.
  • Check HP Service Status: Occasionally, server issues can be on the service provider's end. Check if there are any reported outages or maintenance activities on HP's service status page.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues with online services.
  • Factory Reset the Printer: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you can try performing a factory reset on your OfficeJet 4650 printer. Refer to the printer's user manual or HP's support website for instructions on how to do this.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the server error you're encountering when updating shipping information or signing up for HP Instant Ink.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
