Hello. My HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 All-in-One Printer  is not behaving correctly. The display on the printer says "Connect print to update HP Instant Ink status". But it *is* connected to the internet. From my HP Smart account I can see things like the ink levels on the printer and it has a green tick next to "Connectivity". But below the "Status" icon it has a grey bar and when I click on the "i" (information) button it says "This is an older printer and we can't provide status information here.".

Also, it is not showing as sync'ed from HP Smart and when I press the "i" button to get information it says "This is an older printer and we can't provide status information here.".

Any idea what might be going on here?

Hi @paul2423523,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing some issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 and its connection to HP Smart. While I can't provide a specific solution, here are a few Steps troubleshooting steps you can try:

Restart the Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Check Network Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. You might want to reconfigure the wireless settings on the printer to ensure a stable connection.

Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes address compatibility issues.

Reinstall HP Smart App: Uninstall the HP Smart app from your device, and then reinstall it. This can help refresh the connection between the printer and the app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
