Transferring instant ink account to new printer

I got a new printer, transferred my instant ink acct to it, but the ink I already have will not work in it, it says it is already registered to another device. So I have no ink while I wait for the "welcome packet " and these new ink cartridges are going to go to waste? Does anyone know how to bypass?
