Microsoft Windows 11

Hi all. I moved from one country to another and followed the guides to cancel my old instant ink account and create a new one in my new location. The old instant ink sub was cancelled and after the final bill it now shows 'not enrolled' when I sign in (and has been like this for over 3 weeks now). When I sign in with my new account in my new location and try to enroll in instant ink it says I can't because the printer is already enrolled. It's driving me crazy, if I don't find a solution soon I think I will buy a new (non-HP) printer! Any ideas???

Hi @FJPilot,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Are the printer and PC connected to the internet?

If you purchased a new printer, follow these steps to keep your Instant Ink account, but replace the printer it is connected to.

  • Set up your new printer. Make sure to SKIP any Instant Ink offers you see during printer setup. HP Instant Ink cartridges that were used in one printer cannot be used in another printer.
  • To transfer your Instant Ink account from the original to the replacement printer, sign in to your HP Instant Ink account.
  • If you have more than one printer, select the printer you are replacing.
  • If you see a ‘Printer Replacement notification’, click Continue in that notification. If you do not see the notification, click Enroll/Replace Printer in the Status area.
  • If you need help connecting your printer to the wireless network and enabling web services, follow the on-screen instructions.

In order to enroll in the instant ink program, you need to remove the web services and enable it back again.

  • On your printer control panel, touch or press the HP ePrint icon or button, and then touch or press Settings.
  • If your printer control panel does not have an icon or button, navigate to Web Services Setup, Network Setup, or Wireless Settings to open the Web Services menu, depending on your printer model.
  • Select Turn Off, Disable, or Remove, depending on your printer model.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to turn off Web Services.

Hi this solution doesn't take account of my problem correctly. Here's my situation:

1.This is my printer I have owned since new.

2. I moved country and so cancelled my instant ink subscription as suggested. It shows as cancelled and my printer shows as not enrolled under that account.

3. I reset Web Services when setting up the printer in the new country and created a new HP account but it says that the printer cannot be enrolled as it already enrolled under another account (except it isn't)

Frustrating, I'm on the verge of switching to Canon!
