Waiting for Instant Ink - Can I use alternative cartridges

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am awaiting delivery of my new Instant Ink cartridges, I am an enrolled Instant Ink customer. Can I use alternative spare 301 cartridges in the meantime ? Will it change the Instant Ink settings ?

It is my understanding that you can do so.

You have to replace all the cartridges - you cannot just replace the black cartridge, for example.

 

Stop Web Services, too.

 

Remove the depleted / all Instant Ink cartridges

Replace with purchased cartridges

 

Instant Ink print-by-page subscription will complain a bit.

Your subscription dues (monthly charges) are not suspended for having removed / replaced the inks.  

 

When the HP Instant Ink arrives,

Remove your purchased ink set

Install your HP Instant Ink cartridges

Start Web Services
