Just wondering if I sign up for Instant Ink, can I turn my printer off  ( and also unplug if might have an electrical storm) when I'm done using?  It is connected to the internet through WiFi.  Confused about this!

Other than during electrical storms the printer should be left plugged in and turned on.  The printer will go into a very low-power standby state when idle.  If you turn the printer off and/or unplug it the printer will go through a more involved startup process that uses more ink (and wear and tear on the printer) than just letting the printer go through its own power management and leaving it on.

The Instant Ink program interrogates the printer status approximately daily.  If the printer is only turned on while printing the servers may not be able to properly communicate with the servers which may impact your ability to print.  See section 5..c. of the terms here.
