My problem is with fit to page copying - sometimes it doesn't enlarge at all but think it does if I place item in centre of screen but doesn't enlarge very much. Reluctant to do too much practising for fear of using too much ink. New to the instant ink system - does it read remotely when ink needed?

@brendagoode090, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Yes, the Instant Ink server will count the pages you have printed and monitors the ink levels in the printer to ship the ink cartridges automatically when they are low.

All this information can be found on your Instant Ink account page. You may log in to your HP Instant Ink account page from here.

Regarding the copy settings,

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.

1. Load the original print side down on the right front corner of the scanner glass.

2. Specify number of copies and settings.

From the Home screen, touch Copy. Flick to the desired number of copies.

Touch (Settings) to specify the paper size, paper type, quality, or other settings

There should be a setting for "Resize", you can select "Fit to page" or "Custom Size" etc

That should enable you to enlarge the text.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you for your reply - I thought the problem was solved and that I had been placing the item to be resized in the wrong part of the screen but am reluctant to experiment too much and waste ink! I tried to do a fit to page this morning and placed it in the front right corner of the screen and  it only enlarged slightly. the printer seems to be working perfectly well otherwise. If I can't solve this, is there any way it can be investigated remotely or will I have to wait until we are no longer shielding and take it into the local store?
