Envy 5000 series

i used to have a 3250 deskjet color printer, The Last time i changed the ink, i ordered mor online. In the next couple of days my printer "died". I purchased a new printer - an Envy 5000 series color printer. The starter ink that came with the printer was nearly out, so I signed up for the "instant ink" option, However, I couldn't wait for the ink to come in the mail, so I went to Wal Mart and bought a cartridge of the colored ink, I installed it, and now I get an error message that, since the ink is non-inwtant ink, HP won't be able to tell when I need more Ink, What can I do about this situation?

@Nelda2, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I understand you have HP Envy 5000 series printer enrolled in the Instant Ink program. As you did not receive ink from HP, you purchased the regular ink from Walmart and currently using it. I'd suggest you remove the regular ink and start using the HP Instant Ink cartridges. The regular ink can be stored for the future in case of any spare cartridge requirement. Refer to the document HP Inkjet Supplies - Storing Opened Cartridges and Printheads on how to store your ink cartridges.

In case you still haven't received the HP Instant Ink Cartridges, continue using these regular ink until you receive them and then switch. To assist you better, We would need some information related to your Instant Ink Subscription. This information cannot be shared on a public post.
