HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

When I send something to print on my HPlaserjet 8720, from my phone or laptop, they indicate that printer is low on ink or toner; I get both messages. When I go to printer to change the cartridge, printer says, not low on ink, not ready to be changed. Why?

Hi @AprilRealEstate,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

Check the ink levels on the printer and to know the exact levels to replace.

Check ink or toner levels from the printer control panel

Many HP printers display ink and toner levels on the control panel.

Look for an Ink drop icon ( or ), a Cartridge icon , an Ink Levels menu, or a Toner Level indicator.

Use the printer software to check ink or toner levels from your Mac computer.

  1. Click the Apple icon , click System Preferences, and then click Printers and Scanners, Print & Fax, or Print & Scan.

  2. Select your printer from the list, click Options & Supplies, and then click the Supplies tab.

    Clicking Options & Supplies

Keep me posted.
