If your printer is indicating that you need to pay for services despite using brand new ink cartridges, here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Cartridge Compatibility:
- Ensure that the ink cartridges you bought are compatible with your printer model. Sometimes generic or off-brand cartridges can cause issues.
2. Remove and Reinstall Cartridges:
- Turn off the printer, open the cartridge access door, and carefully remove the cartridges.
- Check for protective tape or seals that might still be on the cartridges. Remove any that are present.
- Reinstall the cartridges securely and close the access door.
3. Reset the Printer:
- Power off the printer, unplug it from the wall for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
4. Run Ink Cartridge Check:
- Use the printer's control panel or software to check the ink levels and ensure the cartridges are recognized.
5. Update Printer Firmware:
- Check for any available firmware updates for your printer on the HP support website. Sometimes, updates can resolve compatibility issues.
6. Disable HP Instant Ink (if applicable):
- If your printer is enrolled in the Instant Ink program, it might not recognize non-Instant Ink cartridges. You can try disabling the service through the HP Smart app or the printer’s settings.
