Hi @Breanna1997,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're receiving a cartridge error message after installing an Instant Ink cartridge (67/305), here are steps to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Cartridge Compatibility
- Ensure that the cartridge you received is compatible with your printer model. Sometimes, cartridges can look similar but are not interchangeable.
2. Remove and Reinstall the Cartridge
- Turn on the printer and open the cartridge access door.
- Remove the new cartridge and gently clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridge and the printer with a lint-free cloth.
- Reinsert the cartridge firmly until you hear it click into place.
3. Check for Protective Tape
- Make sure any protective tape or seals have been removed from the cartridge before installation.
4. Perform a Printer Reset
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
5. Run Printer Maintenance
- Use the printer’s maintenance menu to run any available cleaning or diagnostic tests, which can sometimes clear errors.
6. Check Ink Levels
- Ensure that the ink levels for all cartridges are sufficient and that there are no issues with other cartridges that could affect printing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
