HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer

We've been Instank Ink customers for years and very happy with it. Recently we installed a new ink cartridge (HP Instant Ink) and since then have been unable to print anything.

The message I'm getting is:

"There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP."

Which I have done, and the problem persists. We have so far been unable to contact any live person at HP and following the automated help hasn't worked either.

Any suggestions?

HP will hold you hostage.  If you attempt to cancel your subscription and use other ink, HP will shut your printer down and make it nearly impossible for you to function without the Instant Ink subscription...
