We have not used the printer in a little while but installed the print driver on a new mac laptop.

When trying to print something, it printed the pages with no black ink.

 

I used the tools on the printer screen to clean the cartridges with no luck.

I then replaced the ink with a new cartridge – again with no luck.

No error messages or notifications came up.

 

Does anyone have any ideas?

i have the same issue. Can you please advise me what to do?

i have the same issue ,not printing black ink,replaced with new ink cartridge, followed instructions on clean printhead, cleaned vent on cartridge.   anything else i can do, color is working fine, printer is working fine ,other than the black ink problem

I hadn't used the printer for a while and discovered exactly the same problem despite new cartridges being supplied by HP. I did a clean but it didn't fix the problem though printed ok using the colour only but now, after another furlough, the colour is giving up too. The levels of BOTH cartridges are fine and i've tried 3 times to clean with a level 2 clean leaving more than half an hour between cleans as recommended. The test pages are ALL sparse and pale with no black at all! Please help!

If you have already performed the steps from the document  Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer/replacement ink cartridge
