@Dariana

Depending on your exact notebook model AND the model of your Stylus,

1.  The Stylus may (or may not be) the correct stylus for the model of your Spectre.

2.  If the pen is the 'right one', your Pen may need a driver (software for the pen).

First...

Search the document for a compatible stylus:

HP PCs - Touchscreen Compatibility with Pen and Stylus

  • If there is an HP Active Stylus available for your model, it should be included in the document.
  • Additional information can sometimes be found in Advisory Documents for your computer.
  • The document is updated as new information becomes available.

Next:

If the stylus you have is compatible with your Spectre:

  • Check your Spectre's Software and Driver Website support page for the Pen Driver:

Start here - Look for your computer, open the Software support page for your Operating System version: HP Drivers & Downloads

  •  Open category Driver-Keyboard,Mouse and Input Devices
  • Download, save, and install the Pen Driver
  • Restart the computer and log in

OR

  • Tell us the model name / part number of your Tilt Pen as shown in the document
  • Tell us the exact model / name of your Spectre x360

then

  • We can look for the Driver for you.

The Pen designated for this notebook:  J4R51AA

The "Tilt Pen" noted for this notebook:  K8P73AA

Reference Compatibility Guide

Although the Tilt pen itself should work, this notebook model series was introduced in mid-2015 -- the "tilt" feature may or may not work as noted in the compatibility document.

(Please) Provide your Pen's Device Information

  • Pen Device Information (if / as available) might be available in the Device Manager
  1. Device Manager > View “Devices by type” AND “Show hidden devices”
  2. Open category Human Interface Devices
  3. Look for and Right-Click on “HID-compliant pen” > Properties
  4. Tab Details > Under Property, Select “Hardware ids” > Note and report back the Hardware ids
  5. Tab Driver > Note and report the Driver Version

I don't recognize the IDs.

In truth, that in itself may not mean anything beyond there is no HP driver for the device and / or I just don't see what I am looking at.  (Either one is possible...)

It appears to be an Elan device - possibly a pen but the device ID defines as a TouchPad driver.  Rats.

HID\VID_04F3&PID = Elan Touchpad Driver

@Paul_Tikkanen

Please: What is the device noted for this IDs ?  TIA.

Hardware Ids:

HID\VID_04F3&PID_2070&REV_5107&Col01

Regardless

  • Do you have one of the pens marked as compatible for your computer?

HP PCs - Touchscreen Compatibility with Pen and Stylus

If the answer is yes, you have a support model pen:

  • Please verify which pen / part number do you have?  The information will be printed on the packaging and also likely printed on side of the pen itself in tiny, tiny text.

  • Does name of the Device Manager category / subcategory in which you found the hardware ID match:  Section Human Interface Devices > sub-section HID-compliant pen

  • Are all your your HP Software and Drivers and the BIOS up to date on your computer?

If no, please install any missing / out-of-date drivers / software.

  • Are all Windows Update up to date?

If no, please "check for updates" and install the latest updates for Windows.

You're very welcome.

Most likely it is the tilt pen, but when you check the support page for it, there are no drivers, presumably because they are installed by Windows like most Human Interface Devices.
