Cannot uninstall RGS 6.0.4

Hello,

trying to install RGS (ZCentral Boost) 7.6 on a Zbook G3. Few years ago I installed to test 6.0.4. Now removed the old version, also checked control panel programs, task manager startup, searched registry on "rgs" and "sender" etcc. don not find a trace of the old 6.0.4 RGS but the 7.6 install keeps saying I need to uninstall 6.04 (see image) but I have no clue how I can uninstall 6.04 further. In the community I did see a reg EA6.. but I do not have this in my reg.

Hi Nicolas, 

The files below may have some more info on what the issue is, I'd be curious to see the files.

Also fyi, rgs is a "must reboot" situation between uninstall of old and install of new.

Installing the receiver 7.6 seems to work ok. So I will install the receiver and then uninstall, reboot and try to re-install the sender. Will let you know.

Hi, installed the receiver, rebotted, then uninstalked the receiver (through control panel - programs) rebooted, installed the sender again - same error. says that I need to uninstall 6.0.4.

Uninstall it and reboot one more time then open regedit and navigate to and delete this key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{EA68A36C-66BA-48A0-AA44-D8DC9479F972}

Then install it.

But I do not have the "EA68.." occurrence in my list.

Okay, install it and note the location of the Installation.

Open a command prompt in Administrator mode.

Change directory to the install location of the RGS Receiver.

Run rgreceiver.exe /RegServer

Check for that registry key again and make sure it only has a win32 or a win64 entry.

In the registry editor, navigate to:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\

From here, 

Search for "Remote Graphics Sender"

If you locate a key with reference to a version of the sender that is no longer installed, remove the entire key.

Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately it did not work. I removed the found register key (mentioning version 6.04), then restarted, then re-installed and the same message (image attached on first mail in this thread) appeared during the new install.

I did not try the other suggestion of installing to another folder.

You can try running the Microsoft Install and Uninstall troubleshooter: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/windows-fix-problems-that-block-programs-being-instal...

Then attempt to install the sender again and attach the most recent %TEMP%\rgsenderInstaller log if it continues to fail.
