HP RGS Dual video board

Hello,

we have some Dell Precision 7910 rack with two video board , onboard vga and pci card NVIDIA Quadro M5000.

When the HP-Remote-Graphics-Software-RGS start it will use the onborad vga .

There is a way to force the HP RGS Software to use the NVIDIA Quadro M5000 instead of the onboard vga ?

What version of RGS are you using, and are you using a VM on your sender?

Okay, one thing to try, as there is no way to force it through RGS is to first, make sure you have an NVIDIA driver installed on the M5000.  I have seen issues where a generic Microsoft driver gets installed.  Next, if you can, attached a monitor to each device (onboard and NVIDIA card) and see if you get displays, and how they are being recognized.

we are using latest HP RGS 7.3.3 , and  sender is on physical workstation with windows 7 pro x64 .

The M5000 driver is from Nvidia , we have no monitor connected to the ws because the machine

are in the datacenter , this is why we are using HP RGS .

To use the ws without monitor we have created an EDID file .

Just to confirm, no VM just Windows 7 on a Dell workstation that is headless.  RGS does do NVIDIA resolution and layout matching but had a few issues so that has been fixed in RGS 7.4.0 which is going to be on the web very soon.  Since you don't have the complications of a VM, you should be able to turn on the following properties in the Sender config file located where the sender is installed.

Rgsender.Compatibility.Displays.AllowNvidiaResolutionMatching (Enable if NVIDIA resolution matching is desired, applicable on to systems with or without VMs)

## This property will allow enhancements in RGS resolution matching for Windows machines with Nvidia graphics.

## Valid settings are on, off, and auto.

# Rgsender.Compatibility.Displays.AllowNvidiaResolutionMatching=auto (Auto only works with Windows 10 RS1 and later, need to turn to “1” if using Threshold ,and uncomment on any Windows OS)

## Unsupported property that Attempts to force EDIDs to generate virtual displays

# Rgsender.Displays.RequestedNumNvidiaDisplays=0 (enter number of displays desired)

## Property that determines when we remove the EDIDs that were loaded using the above property.

## Valid settings are disconnect, logout, and never. 

# Rgsender.Displays.RemoveLoadedNvidiaDisplays=logout (set to never if you don't plan on using monitors)

Also the User Guide (page 33) goes into more details for setting up EDIDs but 7.3.3 using NVIDIA resolution matching and layout should do this for you.  Also, make sure to check match receiver resolution and layout in the Receiver GUI.  Also, there is steps in the user guide for testing that the sender can match the resolution of the receiver under Troubleshooting.

we have tried the setting you suggested but we get only 800x600 resolution of the onboard vga .
