Hello good people!

So one evening, I finish using my lappie, tomorrow morning it won't start up. Black screen, fans off. On pressing PWR button, only 3 LEDs come on (for around 5-10 secs): Charging LED near the charging port (orange/white, depending on whether battery/direct AC), POWER LED(white) and Wi-fi LED (orange).

No beeps whataoever, no CAPS LOCK LED blinks.

I have done basic diagnosis like turning on without battery, changed socket outlets (the very basic!),

My friends know how much great care I accord to my machine, and the situation has kinda incapacitated me on many fronts! Trynna not get overwhelmed by all of it.

Kindly help out a dude here.

Many thanks.

Welcome to the HP support community.

Perform a hard rest on the notebook

  1. Turn off the computer.

  2. Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.

  3. Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices, such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.

  4. Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

  5. Remove the battery from the battery compartment.

  6. Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.

  7. Put the battery back into its compartment and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.

  8. Press the Power button to turn on the computer.

  9. On the Options screen, select Continue to open Windows 10.

  10. If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter.

  11. Reconnect each of the peripheral devices.

This seems to be a hardware issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
