Sorry, but I'm a little shocked right now. We have planned a CAD cluster with around 60 computers for 2021. To save license costs, we bought 60 Z-Workstations. Today I received the following message:

„HP has now followed on with the launch of a new subscription offering that gives customers access to both Teradici CAS and its own HP Z Central software for $240 per concurrent user per year. This includes Teradici CAS Manager and PCoIP Agent and Client and HP Z Central Connect and HP Z Central Remote Boost Sender / Receiver.

The company has also stated that by 2023, Z by HP workstations will no longer include a license for HP ZCentral Remote Boost. This is significant news as HP has been bundling this software with its workstations for over ten years.“

That would be annual additional costs of about $ 14,400 for the Remote-Boost-licenses. - what a cheek!

Would be interested to know how long the purchased license versions of RGS 8 will be covered for and if the licenses that come with workstations will still be valid for all versions of 8 and/or 9..

Hopefully they'll still be doing a cheaper license for us RGS users until they linked it all together as a new product

Hi Craig,

If you have purchased 20.x licenses, you can continue to use Remote Boost 20.x versions.  Support will continue through 2022 for Remote Boost.

Where can we download versions older than v22?  They've vanished.

We had exactly the same plan as Dany and were just as perplexed.

If we have to stick with version 2020, we can live with that. But the question is whether we can buy more licenses in the future or not. So no 2022 (Teradici CAS) licenses but real ZCentral 2020 licenses (Remote Boost and manager licenses) so we can scale our setup.

Please to enlightenment.

Thank you.

Kelly, if I by mistake have installed version 22 (didnt know this new license cost), have I made my workstation not approved to run older versions now to avoid license cost?

Will for example RGS version 7.7 be able to run as sender year 2023 without assign a license?

Hi @KellyRGS, we need the link to 20.3.1 as well.  Thank you!

Hi Kelly,

You contacted me two weeks ago via PM. Until now I have not received an answer to my reply.

When can I expect an answer here?

I would like to know this as well.

This new licensing model is very frustrating, we will be looking for alternative solutions.
