Hi,

We recently purchased flex licenses for RGS.

Currently we can only appear to get RGS licensed if we use LM_LICENSE_FILE environment.

This is a generic environment which all flex products can use and may interfere with other installs on the machine.

If we try and use the same license that the is on the flexserver we get the following error:

License path:  C:\Program Files\HP\Remote Graphics Sender\HP ZCentral Rem_24301908.lic;

FlexNet Licensing error:-5,357

08-10-20 14:51:58 INFO  - FlexLicenseBase::checkoutFeature() for RGS_General failed

08-10-20 14:51:58 ERROR - The desired vendor daemon is down.

Check the lmgrd log file, or try lmreread.

Feature:       RGS_General

Vendor:Host:   F1DSK23825

License path:  C:\Program Files\HP\Remote Graphics Sender\HP ZCentral Rem_24301908.lic;

FlexNet Licensing error:-97,121

08-10-20 14:51:58 INFO  - FlexLicenseBase::checkoutFeature() for RGS_HDI failed

08-10-20 14:51:58 ERROR - No such feature exists.

Feature:       RGS_HDI

License path:  C:\Program Files\HP\Remote Graphics Sender\HP ZCentral Rem_24301908.lic;

FlexNet Licensing error:-5,357

08-10-20 14:51:58 INFO  - FlexLicenseBase::checkoutFeature() for RGS_Trial failed

08-10-20 14:51:58 ERROR - No such feature exists.

Feature:       RGS_Trial

License path:  C:\Program Files\HP\Remote Graphics Sender\HP ZCentral Rem_24301908.lic;

FlexNet Licensing error:-5,357

Is there a more specific environment to RGS that we can use or is there a format we can use the lic license, to point to the flex license?

Many thanks in advance,

Hi CGully,

Instead of using the generic LM_LICENSE_FILE environment variable, you should be able to use HPQ_LICENSE_FILE.

When this variable is set, any product using the HPQ vendor daemon (which Remote Boost/RGS does) will attempt to use the license server specified by the HPQ_LICENSE_FILE variable.

Other Flex products should still use the generic LM_LICENSE_FILE variable or a different <VENDOR>_LICENSE_FILE variable if required.
