RGS problem - 3d applications viewport

I've downlaoded 60-day trial to see if RGS will be able to provide what other remore programs didn't.

According to all videos and PR material its hould be aable to provide exactly what I need, ie remote access to workstation with 3D apps running on it.

BUT after setup I;ve got same thing even worse happening then compared to any other remote application.

I don't see any of the 3d app viewports.

Houidni - whole app windows i blacnk white

Maya - I see all the menus and GUI but viewport is blank gray, no grid or anythign else

Softimage - same as with maya.

Windows Remote desctop connection for exmalpe at  leat gives me sogftimage and maya working, but Houdini i ssame white blank

Teamviewer same...

But RGS gives absolutly nothing on any of 3d apps I tried.

Can someone elaborate what is going on please?

Again according to all promotion videos RGS should be eable to provide me propper display but... On top of that even interaction is a bit slowe, full HD settup runs at poorly 20 fps.

Speed at sender computer is 50 MB upload, and at receiver is 400 MB download.

I don;t even wanna try sending 4K 😞

edit: solve da bit of this issue but not fully. as I'm using this on VPN, VPON oconnection on sender was using internet from my home as ther eis router with VPN server.. anwya fixed taht now frame rate is up to 30-40fps. still not taht 60 sweet sport but.. still issue with viewports but could be part that there is no monitor detected only ddigital display in nvidia control panel.. testing that now

Any tips and tricks and idea why I can't see any of the 3d apps?

Since you mention VPN, did you try turning off HP Velocity.  You may also want to enable AVC.  If you are using a headless sender, but have NVIDIA graphic card, you can use the properties in the receiver to setup resolution and layout matching.  However, the sender must be able to match the resolutions that the receiver is showing.  You can test that manually.  Please look at the User Guide for RGS 7.4.0.  For performance adjustments, see page 67.  For NVIDIA resolution and layout matching, see page 31.  You don't mention if you are using VM but if you are, there are some setting that will need to be changed within the receiverconfig file. 

## Change the Sender's resolution to match the Receiver's resolution
## when connecting.  Is overridden by per-session properties.
Rgreceiver.IsMatchReceiverResolutionEnabled=1
Rgreceiver.IsMatchReceiverPhysicalDisplaysEnabled=1

On the senderconfig file:

## If ConfigureVmwareDisplaysForBestPerformance is on, then (on Windows Vmware Systems with Nvidia Graphics)the

For 3D applications we also  have Game mode in RGS.  See page 39.

HP Velocity I had to tun off tio even be able to connect, when it is on I can't even connect.

I tested with and withouth AVC and as I ahve really good conenction it works fine wihtouth it aso all good on that side.

I had to attach an monitor for now (waiting for 4k HDMI emulator adapter) becase in headless system 3d applciation windows are not working at all. Houdini for exmaple is just white and Autodesk stuff like Maya is not showing viewport properly as well.  But even if I ignore that I can setup only resolution that was supported by last attached monitor.

So I guess wilkl have to wait for this addapter, already ordered.

Both sides sender and receivers have 1080ti GPUs, (4 of them in sender, 1 in receiver), and 4k mointoras are alrleady working fine on receiver side so all hould be fine.

No VM.

So all in all it shoul dbe all good oonce 4k emulator arrives.

Let me know if you still have issue after trying the emulators.  We may need to get more details on your setup so we can try and reproduce the issues you are seeing.

We also are having the same issues. 

Running RGS in our fully paid network license, all of a sudden all computers cannot view items in viewport 2.0 mode in Maya 2017. 

Disabled firewall, updating graphics drivers = no effect. 

Would appreciate a comment from HP - willing to allow remote access if needed.

I can confirm after confirming a monitor was direct attached that the issue goes away. 

We are looking at purchasing emulators for other headless setups. 

Previously we were using a KVM device to share the same monitor, but this looks like it won't work with RGS very well.

Have you tried turning on Game Mode?  Also, we just released RGS 7.5.  Advanced Video Compression is also helpful for viewing video.    I would  do your testing on RGS 7.5 on both sender and receiver, and then let me know if you are still having issues.
