Product: MBP mid-2012
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi

 

Is it possible to connect sender and receiver through an Ethernet Direct Connection? (a UTP straight-cable linking a macbook pro and the PC running the server, without going through the LAN's router)

I didn't find explicit mention in either sense in the User Guide.

PS: Odd question maybe, but there's no wired internet installation here, and the wifi might be sketchy for ZCRB, as I'm having very frequent disconnects.

anything network will run like that absolutely no problem just need so set a fixed ip on both ends like

 

192.168.55.1  pc 

192.168.55.2  macbook 

 

then you can connect using those ips. or you know take a older router and just put it between those to get a dhcp server

Great, I was trying like that but the problem must be how the two NICs are setup by default. I can't even ping the addresses
