Hello, Please let me know if there are any miss understanding. HP is totally killing embedded licenses for z central/rgs instead HP wants to sell new Teradici licenses, so if I want to buy a new workstation and I want use z central/rgs I have to buy at least 5 Teradici licenses?! I don’t want to use any new features from teradici I want to use my workstation in same network or via VPN. Why HP is taking from customers opportunity for using z central?! And why do I have to buy 5 licenses if I just have only one HP workstation?!

Hi David,

I am not sure if resellers can provide you with one license for HP Anyware and/or Remote Boost V22, but I will do some checking on that for you.  Remote Boost V22 "Free on Z" preload license will expire on Jan 10, 2023, and to continue to use Remote Boost V22, you will need to move to the new licensing subscription.  Remote Boost V20 can be used for as long as you like, but after Feb 2023, there will not be any more patch releases unless critical.    I am going to have private message enabled for you, and will reach out for more details.

Yes I understand, but please, understand also the users. There was perfect feature exclusively for HP clients- embedded/preloaded license for RGS which has worked perfectly. I (and probably many other users) would understand if the new teradici would be as subscription, but old z central was for free for your hardware customers. For example if I am freelancer I don’t need 5 licenses, moreover I need no more than 2 computers- mobile workstation (for example Zbook) and workstation (for example z6 or z8 for big analyses). At the moment I have connected zbook to the thunderbolt dock with additional display and I’m connecting via zcentral to workstation- perfect, seamless workflow between 2 computers, and if I would like to upgrade my hardware I won’t be able to use it because there won’t be anymore zcentral licenses preloaded in zbook/hp z workstations after 01.01.23. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I replied to you in a private message.  Remote Boost V22 was released with different licensing for the main reason that going forward the path will be HP Anyware.  HP Anyware is the combining of Remote Boost and Teradici CAS remoting solutions, bringing the strengths of both applications together.

Below is the migration guide link which can help you on a decision whether to migrate on not based upon what the features you use in Remote Boost.
