z workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

i am looking for some help to setting up the z central remote boost.

I have a z workstation at my company, and wanted to work remotely from a laptop at home.

I have already signe up for the 90 days free trial, dowloaded and installed the sender application on the z workstation and installed the receiver application on my laptop.

But now when i insert the ip adress on the receiver app, i always get an error message :

unable to connect to sender,

the receiver resolved the specified hostname or ip adress, but cannot connect to the sender, verify that the system us accessible on your network and that the sender is listening on a public IP adress and is not blocked by a firewall.

Do i need for the first time to be physically at my company and to be on the same network with my laptop and z machine, or can i do everything from home ?

thank you for your help

Hi there,

Both your sender and receiver need to be in the same network, so they can "see each other".

If you are accessing your sender from home, you need to be connected to your work's VPN.

If that's the case, try pinging your sender IP address to make sure it's reachable.

If it is, check your firewall settings and make sure you have TCP and UDP ports 42966 open for connections.

I also attached the User's Guide to help you configure and troubleshoot any issues.

Hi,

thank you for your answer, it is now working and i can control my z workstation remotely thanks.

But this is slower compare to the windows basic remote desktop app.

I understood that this hp z remote system was much more faster to enable graphic work remotely.

I am working on solidworks for assembly, parts, simulations etc, and this is quite slow, do you maybe have an idea how to improve ?

i already enable the options hp velocity and advanced compression on sender.

thank you for your help
