Hello,

 

I'm using Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS and download the latest version from rgsender to Ubuntu and use the ./install.sh script to install the system. I can't connect with Windows Receiver or Any Receiver.

On the log (/var/opt/hpremote/rgsender/rg-svc.log) i have this:

 I don't have the port 42966 open/listen.

 

Can you guys give me some help?

The sender and receiver communicate over 42966.  The sender and receiver must be on the same network, whether that is locally or using a VPN, etc.  The sender and receiver must be able to see each other.  By default, HP Velocity is on by default.  Are you able to make a connection and then immediately get disconnected?  If so, try disabling HP Velocity and see if it works.  When HP Velocity is enabled, it changes the traffic from TCP to UDP.  If you are going to use HP Velocity, make sure to have port 42966 open on both TCP and UDP.  Make sure to whitelist Remote Boost from software like anti-virus, deep packet inspection, malware software, and make sure your firewall is not blocking 42966.

The machines are on the same network on the Windows machine i was able to connect to another windows machine so no issue with anti-virus, DLP, malware, deep packet inspection.

 

I installed the package on ubuntu and reboot the machine but still no connection or open port only the log sent earlier it seems that the rg sender is not connecting or been loaded on the Xorg.

I am getting PM enabled for you so I can reach out privately.  I would like to collect some log files, and prefer they not be on the forum.  As soon as that is enabled, I will reach back out.  Normally enabling PM is pretty quick.  You mentioned you are using the latest release, 20.2.1?  Sender and Receiver?

I was able to make the HP RGS work on my machine but only with the Intel UHD Graphics and not with Nvidia driver provide by Nvidia (version470) on Ubuntu 18.04.

 

Do you know if HP have a list of which graphics card the RGS will work?

I am trying to see if we have a list, but normally NVIDIA Quadro cards (M, P, RTX and GeForce).  Cannot go headless on GeForce, requires using an EDID emulator.  Not sure if you are using an HP Z Workstation for your sender, but would recommend updating to the latest HP NVIDIA driver for the graphic card you are using.  I reached back out on PM as I did not see your email with log files to my support email.
