HP RemoteGS
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Using a trial license to pilot a proposed remote vis solution, and have the sender and receiver installed on windows 10 machines.

Currently when i try to connect, i get the first login screen, enter my password and then the system boots me out.

Resolution on sender is standard and matches my desktop, i have Velocity turned off (it errors either way, but i read that fixed others...)  but otherwise i have pretty out of the box configurations checked.

Error message in log as follows:

Any assistance appreciated.

Cheers.

Just so that I understand the issue, you are at the Receiver launcher, click connect and it asks you for username and password.  Then after that you disconnect, or are you actually making it to the sender desktop, and then getting disconnected before entering your password there?  If this is the case, you can extend your network timing settings.  You mention a trial license, this is RGS 7.5?

Yes this is 7.5

i get the sender desktop screen, i enter my password, and the remote session crashes as it tries to set up the desktop.

the errors seem specific to resolution geometry but i'm still running pretty normal 1920x1200 havent tried to even start going to the sizes i need to run.

Are you getting the red/pink screen that there is a network issue, or do you just get a disconnect without any warning?

Adjustments in the rgsenderconfig file for network timing issues:  Make sure to uncomment if using, or you can adjust the Logon Timeout via the senderConfigApp.exe.

## Sets the time in seconds to wait for a system logon event to
## complete. If the logon does not occur within "ConsoleLogonTimeout",
## the sender will be shut down.
# Rgsender.ConsoleLogonTimeout=30

## The timeout in msecs at after the connection will be closed.
# Rgsender.Network.Timeout.Error=30000

Receiver Network settings:  Uncomment if changing default settings in rgreceiverconfig file, or use the receiverConfigApp.exe to make changes.

##### Networking properties:
## Network Timeouts: times are in milliseconds
#  Rgreceiver.Network.Timeout.IsMutable=1

## Enabled the warning message when the network is about to disconnect.
#  Rgreceiver.Network.Timeout.IsGuiEnabled=1

## Time elapsed before a disconnect will occur due to a network error
#  Rgreceiver.Network.Timeout.Error=30000

## Time elapsed before a network warning dialog will appear
#  Rgreceiver.Network.Timeout.Warning=2000

## Time elapsed before certain dialogs will timeout
#  Rgreceiver.Network.Timeout.Dialog=15000

## Port used for communication between sender and receiver. Must match
## the port setting on the Sender. Default is 42966.
## Note that HPVelocity only works on port 42966.
#  Rgreceiver.Network.Port=42966

## LiveUDP enable.  Default is 1 (enabled).
# Rgreceiver.Network.HPVelocity.Enabled=1

## Network Proxy
# Rgreceiver.Network.ProxyEnabled=0
# Rgreceiver.Network.ProxyPort=
# Rgreceiver.Network.ProxyAddress=

You mention that you are matching your resolution on the sender to the receiver without getting any error but then mention you think this is a resolution issue.  If using NVIDIA graphics on the sender, you can enable the below property, you will need to restart the sender service after making the change in the rgsenderconfig file in order for this to take effect.  Make sure in the Receiver GUI you have match resolution and layout checked before making the connection.

## Enable enhanced RGS resolution matching for Windows systems with Nvidia graphics.
## Valid settings are on, off, and auto.
Rgsender.Compatibility.Displays.AllowNvidiaResolutionMatching=on

If you are using VM and not a baremetal OS, add the following:

## Disconnect VMware SVGA displays from the desktop on Windows VMware
## clients when Nvidia displays are available and enabled.
Rgsender.Compatibility.Displays.ConfigureVmwareDisplaysForBestPerformance=1

## When ConfigureVmwareDisplaysForBestPerformance is enabled, define
## the behavior when RGS disconnects. Re-enabling the VMware displays
## allows access from vSphere.  This can also cause Windows to
## rearrange the desktop
Rgsender.Compatibility.Displays.ReEnableVmwareDisplaysOnRGSDisconnect=1

If not using NVIDIA graphics, you don't need the above setting but make sure you check match resolution and layout.  Both the sender and receiver must be able to support the resolution(s) being requested.

Its just a disconnect with no warning.

I'll look at the NVIDIA settings and some of the network timeout stuff.

Both the sender and receiver are capable of the resolution in question.
