Our tri-color cartridge (61XL) stopped working a few weeks ago and the printer gives an error message that it is “not compatible.” It is a genuine HP product. We’ve tried cleaning the contacts and turning the printer off/on with no success. How can this issue be resolved?

I understand you str not able to print using the tri-color ink cartridge. if you have tried the steps mentioned in this document and the issue persists, I'm afraid this is could be a defective ink cartridge.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
