  • What is the exact model for your printer? (Photosmart or deskjet)
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Thank you for your response. 

I have an HP Photosmart 6525 printer. I have made no recent software or hardware upgrades. 

I have cleaned the print heads and aligned printer with each of 3- 564xl black ink cartridges. I have powered off the  printer and have restored factory defaults. 

The Print Quality Diagnostic prints black text but nothing in the black grey scale box. Printing  Documents only gives a white sheet of paper.

Are you able to make a copy in black?

 

Meanwhile, I recommend you root uninstall the printer and then reinstall it and check if it helps.

 

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.

I was not able to make a copy.

I performed the procedure that you specified to remove the driver software.

I was unable to download the driver from the link you provided, so inserted the original disk that came with the printer. It checked for and found no updates to the driver.

After installation was completed, a test  picture was printed successfully, although it showed no black areas in the picture, only colors.

Also cleaned print heads and cleaning printer symptoms remain exactly the same as the image I sent before, no black greyscale.

I recommend you contact support as this looks like a hardware issue.

 

Here is how you can get in touch with support.

 

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
