HP Photosmart C6150 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After long non-use; I reconnected my C6150. Now it gives a message: 0XC18a0206 Ink System Failure. I tried the reset, but it keeps giving me the message.  I took the ink cartridges out,  but WILL IT RESET Without new ink?  Did I ruin it by storing it with ink cartridges (not connected)? Is the only way to check the status to buy all new cartridges and try to reset it then?  It was working just fine before the 'storage'.   I was hoping to salvage this little machine, because it worked well before this.  I live in the countryside - not close to anyplace to repair it; it was an 'oldie' but a goodie.  Thanks

Hi @MRSLRC

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to help you with the "0x.." error.

Let's try these steps -

1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Wait for 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Update the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the issue still persists, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Have a great day!
