HP Envy Photo 1155
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I just bought an Envy Photo 1155, and during installation I got the alignment failure message.  The paper is brand new, I've tried cleaning the cartridges, as well as removing them and reinstalling them.  However the alignment still fails.  HP used to have quality products, what happened?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Could you reconfirm the Product details as this appears to me an incorrect product number/name.

Thanks 🙂

Sorry about that, its a 7155 for the model number, I typed 1155 by mistake.

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  1. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  6. NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

If the issue persists, please perform the remaining steps from this document: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-photo-7100-all-in-one-printer-series/9073119/model/9073...

Hi betty, I reset the printer as described, and then went in and did an alignment, butI am really confused by the results.  On the computer, for the toolbox menu, it says "Alignment completed successfully. This will help to ensure the best print quality."  However, on the printer's LCD screen, it still shows the Alignment Unsuccessful message.

Try upgrading the Printer firmware: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Tried to update the firmware, update fails both times, tried shutting printer off and turning back on, but that didn't help.

Do you have another set of ink cartridges to check if the message appears with those as well?

If not, I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team as this could be a hardware issue.
