HP Envy Photo 7155
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Last printer I bought was an HP. I seldom used it for printing - sometimes went a month or two without using it - and when I did, the result would be faded and unreadable. Bought new ink cartridges. Had the same problem. Looked to Youtube. They told me it's often the case that the printer heads get gunked up if they're not used often enough. Can't remove the printer head to clean it. Ended up throwing the whole unit away.

Got a new one, an Envy Photo 7155. Ooh, fancy. Surely this one will work. First print had a few imperfections, but was acceptable. Didn't use it to print for a few months. Just tried to print today. Same problem. Faded, streaked, and unreadable. Readout says ink is still about 1/3 full. Still can't remove printer heads to clean it. Looks like the same problem. HP is a scam.

I also have the HP ENVY PHOTO 7155 & mine is nothing but PROBLEMS. Right now I can't get it to change paper trays. It is always "offline".  I never had any issues with my Photosmart All-In -One. It was GREAT until it would no longer feed paper, but used for many years.  Had the Envy for a few years & nothing is simple about it at all. Maybe mine is a "lemon", but I'll never buy another one.

Welcome to HP support community.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  1. Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.

  2. Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.

    • If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.

    • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  3. If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.

  4. If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.

  5. Try to print.

Assign manual IP address and that should fix the issue.

From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, touch ( Setup ), touch Reports , and then touch Network configuration Page.

Setting a Static IP Address

Once you know your printer’s IP address, entering it is pretty easy. Here’s what you do:

HP Printer Static IP Address

  1. Run your Web browser.
  2. In the Web browser’s address bar, type the IP address of your printer and press Enter. Assuming you entered the right address, the HP printer control panel should appear.
  3. Click the Networking tab.
  4. Under Connections, click Wireless.
  5. Under IP Address Configuration, click Manual IP.
  6. Enter the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway in the appropriate boxes.
  7. Click Apply.
