The upshot is a collective moan in reviews in Which? consumer magazine, various store websites etc about having to pay for expensive cartridge or toner replacements.
I’ve found some amazing reviews about tank printers - fantastic value to run etc.
Are HP working on a tank printer and if not, why not? What does research say at HP???

HP has had a tank printer on the market for a year or more, but it seems to be only in a few regions such as India and the Middle East. Look for the HP Deskjet gt5820.
For good ink value you might look at the HP Instant Ink program - this is a subscription based program where you pay for a certain number of pages per month and the cartrdiges are included in the charge. Prices range from 15 pages per month for free up to $9.99 for 300 pages per month. There are often introductory offers for up to five free months. See the page here for information.
I am not an employee of HP, I am a volunteer posting here on my own time.
