When I print the test run on regular paper they look fine, but when I go to the labels, they come out slightly smeared.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Hi @GWCampbell, and welcome back to the HP Forums.

I see you recently had some trouble finding the appropriate print settings, and now that you are able to print on the Avery labels the print quality is smeared and not as expected.

Since the printer prints well when printing on plain paper, I suggest checking the paper you are using. Is this paper intended for inkjet printing? Have you tried to slow the print job by increasing the quality to best? It could be that the paper is simply feeding too quickly causing the ink to smear before it drys.

If you need help to change your print settings, let me know what program you are printing from and I will do all I can to help.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance. Thanks.

I'm Using Avery 15660 Clear labels and now that I look at the packaging, it does say LASER.

SO you think that's the problem?

I think it's the likely root cause. I'd recommend getting inkjet paper. If you do get inkjet paper and are able to print, please be sure to click the Accept as Solution button below to flag your post as solved.

Thanks. If the issue persists, I will gladly do all I can to help.
