hp envy photo 7155
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I bought a HP envy photo 7155 at Christmas in 2018, but just got around to hooking it up (March 2020). The black ink cartridge that came packed with the printer will not work. I tried resetting the machine and cleaning the circuits. Neither worked.

I noticed that the circuit on the ink cartridge does not align with the circuit on the printer, e.g. the connecting dots do not line up (they line up on the tri-color cartridge and it works just fine). This makes me think I purchased a faulty printer or it was packaged with a faulty ink cartridge. I would like some clarification on this issue. With my kids at home because of COVID-19, I am unable to help them print out their school assignments. Please, someone help me figure out what is wrong.

If you have already performed the steps from the document  Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
