Hope someone can help me,

My HPdeskjet 3520 black ink won't print.  The cartridge is brand new, all other colors are also brand new, I went through majority of the HP support online suggestions, ex: clean printer, printhead cleaning, everything.  Very frustrated considering I just recently bought $60 worth of ink :(, if anyone has had this problem and solved it please let me know, thank you!

@Sgerrad Welcome to HP Community!

I understand you are having printing issues on your HP DeskJet 3520 printer. Don't worry, though, as I have few other recommendations, which should help you to fix the issue,

Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Please remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a Hard reset on the printer.

* With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

* Remove USB cable, if present.

* Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

* Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

* Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

* Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test document and check if it works.

Let’s first try and make a “photocopy” to determine whether the issue is with the printer or not. Place a document on the scanner glass and choose “Copy” option. If the printer is making a good copy, then the printer hardware is fine.

Hi Praveen,

I posted the subject Deskjet 3520 Cartridge error message is frozen at 2309 on 06-27-2020. I followed all the hard boot instructions you gave in answer to this thread here. No joy. And by now the brand new black cartridge has been in and out of the printer  long enough to have rendered it useless. I still have the message on the printer Ink Cartridges Problem. One or more Cartridges appear to be missing or damaged. Install or replace the affected Cartridges

I clicked your link to HP Deskjet 3520 Printers - Color or Black Ink Not Printing but it's broken. I'm loathe to buy another set of expensive cartridges if the printer itself is only good for the landfill...but of course I'd take it to Staples where I bought it to dispose of it properly.

BTW, I always get a message from HP that the cartridges are counterfeit. I've never bought them anywhere but Staples.

Please just advise if I should give up and buy a new printer and yet another set of cartridges.

Thanks,

M. aka Technoweenie1
