I have had my printer a couple of weeks. Installation and printing of a couple of documents and photos from both my laptop and the hp app on my phone went fine last week.

Yesterday, I tried printing a .pdf from my laptop - it wouldn't work because the printer was offline. I tried printing the same document from the hp app on my phone. After several minutes, it printed - but the page was entirely blank. I kept trying a few more times with the same result - several minutes wait time, only to get completely blank page.

I searched forums and verified I have adequate ink levels.

I initiated the clean print head option on the printer. That was over twelve hours ago, and the printer screen still has a swirling circle and says "cleaning printhead."

How do I safely get unstuck from the cleaning print head sequence, and, then, how do I get non-blank pages printed?

Welcome to HP forums, I see that you are having multiple issues with the printer, printer is stuck in "cleaning printhead" message, it is printing black pages and connectivity issues.

Lets first clear the stuck in "cleaning printhead" issue:

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector and printer.
  6. Turn on the printer.

The power reset helped fix the print head cleaning issue and I am now able to print from the app (no blank pages). Thank you!
