Product: hp 5740 all in one printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Can anybody tell me: Does this HP 5740 All in one printer use a USB type Bluetooth Dongle that is plugged into the front USB port?

 

Mine doesn't have a Dongle there.

 

I have watched some installation videos and sales videos and I have never seen a USB type plug in Dongle but the wireless funtion doesn't work.

The front USB slot can only be used for printing from or scanning to.

Thanks for the help: I bought a USB Transfer cable Type A male to Type A male and hooked my laptop up to the printer using the front port but the HP printer diagnostic program says they are not connected.

 

I used a flash drive and was able to get it to print  that way using the front USB port.

 

I suppose the cable I bought could be bad but it is brand new, I have not proven that it is good through an actual hook up with devices. 

 

My laptop works on this printer through the USB port on the Back of the printer which is not type A on both ends, and it works with an ethernet cable.

 

From your post I gather this printer uses it's own internal  transmitter "Radio" receiver and does not need or use a Bluetooth Dongle.
