OfficeJet 4500
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Since 23/7 the print output from my OfficeJet450 has been blurred/double image with poor registration. All HP recommended steps and diagnostics have been applied and Print Driver deleted and re-installed. New print cartridges installed. No change. The printer prints perfect test output every time, but will not print anything from MacBook Air without blurred/poor registration. Is this a "Driver Update" issue?

@Befrazzled, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue, follow the steps below-

Check the settings before you send the print job. Refer to the document HP Printers - Print Settings Guide (Mac) for help.

ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:

Update printer firmware

Update software on Mac

Remove and add the printer

Click the Apple menu, and then select System Preferences.

Depending on your operating system version, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.

Click the name of your printer, click the Minus sign, and then delete the printer.

Select printer and click the minus sign

Click the Plus sign, and then click Add Printer or Scanner.

Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select AirPrint

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

Hi,

Of course I checked all the printer settings and tried various print settings. As I have said, the printer driver has been un-installed and the latest Printer driver re-installed for the current Catalina Mac software (10.15.6) from the HP website. The printer has been deleted/removed from the wireless network and re-added to the network. There is no printer firmware update available from HP for the Officejet 4500 G510n-z nor is there an option to download any firmware from the EWS dashboard.

So the problem persists. Perfect test prints from the printer, shadowed text (black) from the output sent to the printer to print.

Asmita, As far as I can make out, I can only post photo files, not pdfs, to these community messages.
