macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Any suggestions on how to bypass the ink setup error screen on my hp envy 5055 printer?  I lost the black setup cartridge and am stuck with just color. Any idea on how to bypass the entire setup error screen? I did a reset already. Thanks.

What type of reset have you tried?

Performing the OOBE reset may help. 

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

We have a new HP Envy 5010 but when installing the ink cartridges the user has pulled of the contact on the setup ink cartridges, and so not working. Have installed new ink cartridges but printers is asking for Setup Cartridges. 

Have tried the rest option by powering off machines and back on, but still requesting setup cartridges.

Any ideas on how to bypass this?

We could try changing some settings in the Support Menu and check if that helps
