OfficeJet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an OfficeJet 6978 with a bad color printhead and it's out of warranty, so I just bought another one. My old one is wirelessly connected to my home network (2 desktops, 2 laptops, and our iPhones can also print to it). I need to swap them out. Can I just turn the old one off and the new one on (since it's the exact same model) , or do I have to uninstall and then reinstall  in Windows 10 (since it is still a different device than what is there now, even though they are identical models). Will I have to do this on each device on my network, or just from the desktop where I first installed my printer and then shared it?

Thanks!

Andy

I wound up calling HP, and they told me I need to delete the printer from each device that has it listed as a printer, then install the new one on each. They said I"ll already have the drivers since it's the same model, but still have to set it up as new. I set it up today without issues.
