I have followed the printer reset instructions numerous times in hopes it would work.  Now what?

The printer will need to be serviced.  If you purchased the printer less than two years ago HP should cover the replacement (and shipping) at no charge. See the document here for information on having your Officejet 6830 serviced for a printhead issue.

It appears this is a defective printer (printhead message) and a replacement is being shipped with an approximate date of May 2.  Annoying yes, but appreciative of replacement.
