Cannot print in colour but can copy in colour.  Have un-installed and re-installed but no different as in my printing preferences I still only have draft, normal and best but no colour option.  (I am using Windows 10 Home Edition.)

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Thank you for your response.  I will endeavour to try this over the weekend but with my limited computer knowledge not sure how far I will get.  May have to wait for a member of the family to come and sort it out for me.  It is not an immediate problem as I can still print in colour from my iPad and also from my husband's desktop.

Hi

I have followed all the steps, uninstalled my printer, removed it using the cmd prompt and just downloaded the new driver, I still don't get any colour options on the driver

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Try using the built-in drivers: https://www.google.co.in/search?client=opera&q=built-in+drivers+hp&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Hi Betty

This is driving me mad!

I have tried downloading the built in drivers but still have no colour options, I have rebooted to see if that will help, but nothing

I am able to print in colour from a mobile phone but not my pc which I need to do today

Surely there must be a driver I can download which has the colour option to select

This seems like an issue with the print driver. Let us try installing the print driver compatible with Win 7 OS on your Win 10 PC. This may resolve this issue:

Perform the root uninstallation as mentioned in the first post, then Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

Click the “Kudos, Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Have a great day!

Hi Kumar

No, still not working, I've done exactly as you said, removed everything regarding the printer, uninstalled, ran the printui.exe to remove

Rebooted. Installed the driver from the link you sent and still no colour option or colour printing

I have an HP instant ink account with you, and have to keep printing test pages whch means I will be charged more for going over my quota

This is driving me mad,

I can print from my mobile phone in colour so am having to email myself and do it that way

Any other options please?

Regards

Let's create a local account and see if you're able to print in color from there: https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/4026923/windows-10-create-a-local-user-or-administrator-acc...
