Cant print from my deskjet 2630

HP deskjet 2630
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought this printer about a year ago and have used it just fine.  However I had to reinstall Windows due to an error. I re downloaded the correct driver software from HP and installed it. everything ok there.

But now, when I click on a document I wish to print, I am presented with a window where I am asked to select my printer. I cant see my printer listed so I click install printer, on the window that says "choose a device or printer to add to this pc", my printer is listed and so I click next.  I am then asked to enter the WPS PIN for my printer, and this is where I am coming unstuck.  Firstly I cannot find a WPS number on my printer, secondly, entering the WPS number off my router doesn't work - and why do I have to go through my router just to print a document from my PC?

Before I had to reinstall Windows, I was just able to right click a document or photo and click print and it automatically sent it to the printer.  I am not using the HP App, and I don't wish to print wirelessly from my mobile or anything else.

Hope somebody can advise me as to what I should do.

Many thanks,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

Use this link for details on using the HP Print and Scan doctor:

If the issue persists, let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:
