HP Envy 4527

I have just changed the cartridge in my printer and now it is saying there is a carriage jam. It has been working fine up until this point. I have tried all the troubleshooting suggested on the virtual chat, and still is not working. I've tried installing another cartridge and that hasn't worked either. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hi @Cassie83

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

It seems like the print carriage is stuck. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Check for any obstructions inside the printer. Perform step 1 from this document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi. Apologies for the delay. I have been away over Christmas and New Year period. I did eventually manage to get printer working after messing around with it for hours. On Friday though the colour cartridge ran out, and it has done the same again. None of the trouble shooting has worked, again. It happens every time I put a new cartridge in now. Also a message flashes up saying incompatible cartridge, but the cartridges are sent direct from HP as we have an online account that sends them out automatically when they run out.
