"Incompatible Cartridge(s) The indicated cartridges are not intended for use with this printer"   -   an HP2620

I replaced with HP301 - the correct cartridge.

This is the message on my printer screen. I replaced the black cartridge only. It was working fine before I changed the black. How can I make it work?

I put the old cartridge back and it was accepted but is out of ink.

Thanks for the reply David. Unfortunately I am currently in France and I threw the packaging away immediately although I still have the second part (colour cartridge) and the bin men came the same day. I have the receipt but I know France well enough to know that getting a refund will not happen - it is impossible in France where consumer law is very poor.

I bought another cartridge (kept the packaging) and it is working fine.

I looked carefully at both and they seem exactly the same (both made in Malaysia) - I don't think the malfunctioning cartridge is a copy.

I basically lost 39 Euros - very annoying.

Is there any possibility that if I sent you the bad cartridge, with the colour cartidge also, HP would send me a replacement?

Hi @Slucygilbert,

I read the quick response. Great effort and superb troubleshooting. hats off to you for that. It is appreciated greatly. 🙂  I don't want to give you incorrect information.

  • When will you return to the country of origin or the country that you purchased the cartridge from?

If you do you, then you could return the cartridge as it has a year's warranty for a replacement. I don't know if a refund is possible. You will need to use the same link to contact HP phone support.

It has been amazing working with you with such profound knowledge and great technical skills. 🙂 Thank you for sharing this platform and giving me the privilege to share it also. 🙂

Trust me I've done everything I can to assist you by keeping your best interest in mind. I hope the unit after repair works great and stays healthy for a long time. 🙂
